Ayodhya

The Holy Land

Ayodhya is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus. Devotees visit the city to offer prayers at the various temples dedicated to Lord Rama and other deities associated with the Ramayana. The most revered temple is the Kanak Bhavan temple, which is believed to be the palace of Sita and Rama. Kanak Bhawan is to the north-east of Ram Janam Bhumi, Ramkot, in Ayodhya. Kanak Bhawan is one of the finest and famous temples in Ayodhya and is a must visit. It is believed that this Bhawan was gifted to Devi Sita by Kaikei immediately after her marriage to Lord Ram. This is private palace of Devi Sita and Lord Rama.  Another place, Ram ki Paidi is a series of ghats on the bank of River Saryu. The river front brings forth an outstanding Landscape especially in floodlit night. These serve as platforms to devotees who it is said, come to wash away their sins by taking a dip in the river

Vedic Times

The cosmic cycle have experienced 4 yuga’s namely Satya yuga, Treta yuga, Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga

The supreme lord incarnations are experienced in all these yuga’s in various forms. We are living in Kali Yuga where adharma is ruling as people are with Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada, Mastara. In this yuga, the lord’s Kalki avatar is yet to happen.

In the early yuga’s, importantly in Treta Yuga, Lord Shri Ram’s incarnation spread the message of speaking to the truth and following dharma. Lord Shri Ram killed demon Ravana, the king od Lanka, a victory over the adharma.

During Treta Yuga, people lived happily and followed Lord Shri Ram as their role model. Some of the important things about Trethayuga are:

Ritual Sacrifices

Treta Yuga witnesses the introduction of more complex ritual sacrifices (yajnas) as part of religious practices. These rituals become more elaborate, involving precise ceremonies and the chanting of specific mantras. The Brahmanas, texts associated with ritualistic explanations, also emerge during this period.

Jay ShriRam

The most significant event associated with Treta Yuga is the incarnation of Lord Shri Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. Rama’s life and teachings are detailed in the epic poem, the Ramayana, composed by the sage Valmiki. Rama’s unwavering devotion to dharma (righteousness) and his exemplary life serve as a moral and spiritual guide for followers of Hinduism.

The Dharma

Treta Yuga is characterized by a gradual decline in the adherence to dharma compared to the preceding Satya Yuga. However, dharma still holds a significant place in the societal and religious framework during this age. The Ramayana, which narrates the life of Lord Shri Rama, serves as a guide on how to uphold dharma even in challenging circumstances.

Spiritual

While Treta Yuga is marked by a decline in righteousness compared to Satya Yuga, it still represents a time of spiritual development. The focus on rituals, sacrifices, and adherence to dharma contributes to the spiritual evolution of individuals and society
